Today, acting on information by BSF intelligence wing about presence of a heroin consignment in the border area of Tarn Taran district, a joint search operation by BSF troops in collaboration with Punjab Police was conducted in the suspected area.
2) During the search operation, at about 01:20 pm, the troops successfully recovered 01 packet of suspected heroin (Gross weight- 534 Grams) from a farming field adjacent to village Pallopati in Tarn Taran district. The narcotics packet was found wrapped with yellow adhesive tape and an improvised metal wire loop with 02 luminous sticks was also attached to it.
3) A reliable information and coordinated efforts of BSF and Punjab police successfully thwarted yet another narcotics smuggling attempt from across the border.
